sale Well, it is early in the morning of what is set to be a sad day.  You see, I just took a job working up North, so I need to do something with my stuff.  On one hand I could take it with me, but since they have to fly everything in, it would cost too much to take my stuff with me, so I have decided to auction it off instead.

So, starting at 9 AM, they will be auctioning off most of my possessions including my furniture, vehicles and antiques.  There is too much to list here, but needless to say we will be lucky to get through everything today.

I was able to sell the jewelry online as well as some of my action figures, but the rest we will be selling here in real life.  I was really sad when I did sell the gold jewelry and I am not looking forward to how I will be feeling tonight when most of the stuff that I have collected throughout my life is gone.

But, I should be happy that I do have a great new job, and that my housing will be provided.  It is a great opportunity and I am looking forward to the fishing.  Besides, I would have had to clean out my stuff at some point anyway and moving away is a good enough reason to do it.

Often times as writers our writing assignments make us write about mind numbing subjects that we could care less about. Personally, I get paid to post blogs for an SEO company. It is fairly easy work, but at the same time it can be unrealistically challenging! Have you ever tried to post a bunch of blogs about refillable ink cartridges for printers?

I’ll usually write posts that are at least loosely based on real life experiences. I think that this really helps keep things on the level. But like the example above, writing about my personal experiences with refillable ink cartridges only goes so far. It’s not like I have any personal experience with those things. So sometimes I lean on other peoples work for some help.

I’m not advocating plagiarism though. All of your work as a writer must be 100% original. But that does not mean you can’t glean ideas from other people’s work. YouTube is a fantastic resource. Sometimes when I am in a fix I’ll go to YouTube and search for videos about the subject I am writing about. Then I write about the video. And YouTube isn’t the only resource either. As long as you change things up (like taking the opposite viewpoint of someone else’s post) it is fair game.

There are many ways to make money as a writer. Really there are a lot more opportunities than just writing books! There are people who write articles for magazines and newspapers. There are people who actually get paid to write blogs like these. Even indexing and copy writing are good writing jobs. But there is a new one that has emerged that is pretty interesting.

If you become an online auction lister you are doing nothing less than professional writing. We have all seen the popularity increase of sites like eBay, right? And some of these auction listings look a lot more professional than others. That is because they were put together by these professional writers.

It’s not for everyone though. All writing requires good attention to detail. But this kind of writing also requires strong clerical skills. It may also involve photographing items which are for sale and uploading those photos as well. Plus you have to be good at describing items in ways that will entice people to buy them without exaggerating or “puffing the goods” more than what is reasonable. So if you think that these are skills that you have, perhaps becoming an online auction lister is the job for you.
